Guest guest
Dear Julia: I know you have donated Julia, both to help Chrism, and to help pay for his trip, so you are not one who ignores helping. When I wrote that my post had been ignored I meant in regard to how many people are regularly donating. The issue first became important to me when thanked donors at the end of one month and there were so few. That's when I decided to begin posting on this issue. It did help some, because the next month he thanked more people, but still there were far less than are actively participating on this website. When I saw how many people went to see the movie Avatar, I realized that those people could also probably send an equivalent amount to help Chrism, but it just hadn't occurred to them to do so. This got me to thinking about my own spending and ways I could donate more to help. I also meant that no one was willing to dialogue about the topic with me to generate ideas about how each of us could help and why many of us seem unmotivated to do so. I do understand the economic times are hard; we are also affected as we use 1/3 of our income to support our son and thus don't have the funds to pay all the monthly bills without going into debt. But none the less, I feel a sense of joy in being able to make my gratitude more than just words. Words are important, but there needs to be a balance: gives all; I need to give something too. Good and appropriate question Julia, thank you for taking the time to respond. And by the way, I am loving your impressions of JOG and your trip. I agree with you as to the issue of ritual and discipline as you stated to Stephen.. My love for you grows with every post you write.
