Guest guest
I agree Monica, but the tongues that is not of any known language I do not see it as meaningless chatter. For me the mind just disconnects and the sounds (some say it is the language of the angels) I feel is for my personal edification even though I do not know what the words mean. I am wondering if it may serve the same purpose as the repeating of a mantra. Not for sure about that. Maybe Dhyana would know. The type of tongues spoken, in like a church setting where the person begins speaking in a known language, but not known to them, is usually for the edification of another who is present. There is usually someone in the congregation who will be given the interpretation of what has been said. The one who gives the interpretation may not be able to speak that language either, but the person the message was for would know the language and the intrept is more or less a confirmation. The message would have much meaning for the reciever, but could seem meaningless to others present. Sometimes the message is for the whole congregation. Sometimes the tongues is used in the worshipping of God. It is beautiful when the whole church body begin singing in tongues and it flows in harmony. I miss that part of going to church, the worshiping together in tongues. Love and joy/bliss flows freely. I miss my church family from North Dakota, dearly...they were so in tune with one another. Like one day I woke up very sick with a virus and I had not spoken with anyone all day, and that afternoon about time for supper this lady from the church knocks on my door with a pot of soup cooked for my family. She said the Lord had spoken to her eariler that day that I was not well enough to cook for my family. That is my experience of it. Guest guest
Hi Linda  Yes I agree!  You have a beautiful experience.  Certainly the language will only make sense to the receiver. However, I experienced once answering to someone who spoke in language and she answered back. It was from soul to soul! It was natural to me to speak to that Lady! I don’t know what I say..but once again I felt what I said…so pretty much I knew through feeling the meaning!  It is very interesting subject for more research! I can only speak for my experience.  Blessings Monica --- El vie, 2/26/10, danceswithcats999 <crazycats711 escribió: De: danceswithcats999 <crazycats711 Asunto: Re: Sons of Thunder John Crowder- glossalia A: Fecha: viernes, 26 de febrero de 2010, 06:39 am  I agree Monica, but the tongues that is not of any known language I do not see it as meaningless chatter. Guest guest
Hi folks, this has been an interesting thread. I watched some of John Crowder's youtube videos and he didnt really resonate with me. I got a sensationalist feel coming off him. I also go to a charismatic church where people speak in tounges, healings happen and the presence of God is palpable, yet there is also a lot of 'hit and miss' in the church, where things dont happen as expected. Trying to seperate the promptings of the Holy Spirit from the promptings of the ego, is a fun task, one that really fascinates me as its a reflection of my own inner process... love Bruce , Monica <monikaeslava wrote: > > Hi Linda >  > Yes I agree! >  > You have a beautiful experience. >  > Certainly the language will only make sense to the receiver. Guest guest
Yes Monica, your experience was beautiful too. It reminded me of an incidence with my daughter and her cousin. They were close and both about age about 2 years old at the time and one day they were just setting there talking to each other in what seemed another language. They were both talking by then, but this day they were speaking in this strange language and they would stop and laugh here and there. It really seemed like they were having a wonderful communication. I stood there outside the door and listened in for while and it struck me as amaging.
