Guest guest
Thank you to everyone who shared about past lives.... I appreciate your thoughts very very much. I read recently " that reincarnation is now being seen by many in a different light. Just as there are many imbalances and misinterpretations in the Christian faiths there are in the Buddhist based ones. It has been revealed to many that they took the idea of reincarnation too far " This made sense to me. Years ago I would have thought reincarnation could not be true because of the way lives were lead in cultures who believed in reincarnation. What I mean is that I could not understand some of the concepts that prevented folks from helping or serving others. Two examples I have had difficulty with would be ... standing back and not helping someone because of the belief that they had to experience the hunger or the poverty or what ever...and .... the caste system in India based on reincarnation beliefs. my own narrow viewing of what I perceived reincarnation to be prevented me from exploring the subject further. This was a pity. Also when all is said and done I felt that what I believe about reincarnation is not important, it is how I live my life now that matters. I have always believed that there are concequences of some sort once I leave this body although the concepts of purgatory or hell in the christian imagary did not make sense to me either. I always felt that when Christ said " in my fathers house there are many mansions " he was telling us about life after death. I think it was Linda who wrote about this life being an illusion...I have always had a difficulty with this concept that life is an illusion being experienced by us....I enjoy thinking about this at times though. I would need a definition of what an illusion is first lol!! Helen thanks for the book recommendation, I will check it out. When I read what John r wrote about self indulgent and service dedicated reincarnations I felt the internal " shift " that occurs within when I read the truth. that connection is still here so I expect that to develop. If reincarnation is the cycle that we are in then my daughter being here this time with Down syndrome is most definitly not as a punishment because of a past life. She made the choice to return like this in order to brings gifts and give gifts and is a shining light of unconditional love and beauty. I am grateful every day that she decided to choose us to be her family, and I thank god for the gift of her presence. love julia , " John R " <...> wrote: > > Hi Helen, > > The details of that book are also listed in the KAS-1 " Books We Like " database. With regard to reincarnation, I've heard a view expressed that the number of (self-indulgent?) lives experienced can grow disproportionately high to the number of " service " -dedicated lives that we've had, and that when these tallies get out of kilter, a more immediate karma is felt within each successive life until the balance is restored (or the full circle of life-purpose becomes complete). I can't comment on this from experience but I do think that the adoption of the lifestyle changes listed in the Safeties can soften the force of a kundalini awakening that otherwise might have a fairly seismic karmic component. Guest guest
Jula     Thanks so much for bringing this up. Over the years I have spent a lot of time within Children's hospitals and within the disabled community. I have met so many children whose spirit blasts through with a light just blinds me.  I know in my heart and soul that they are graces from God.   My daughter has a rare disability called osteogenisis imperfecta (brittle bone disease)and her bones fracture very easily. She is 18 now and has had over 300 fractures, she is very short statured and uses an electric wheelchair for mobility.   If only you could feel the spirit of a national convention (of my daughters disability) and hundreds of kids and and adults are there. There is play and singing and dancing, no matter what these kids have been through (which is more than you can imagine)  they shine-shine shine.  The energy there-oh the energy there! It is greater than any church I have been to - it touches even the most hard hearted and they never, never, forget it.   That's just a small part of what these can kids do, the gifts they bring - God has historically sent us messengers, prophets and helpers over the centuries, I know they are among them. Love and Blessings Mary - " Julia " <jajahern Saturday, February 27, 2010 3:44:57 AM GMT -06:00 US/Canada Central Re: past lives..thank you ..julia  Thank you to everyone who shared about past lives....
