Guest guest
Hi folks, I was wondering if anyone else has noticeable energetic increases on the day or two leading up to full moon, and on full moon itself? This happens monthly for me and is felt as an (often painful) increase in head and neck tension. Its been strong again the last couple of days. I had a few excellent days during the week with a high level of balanced energy, which seems to have (combined with the lunar influence) dislodged some more uncomfortablle emotional material and initiated another round of healing... love Bruce
Guest guest
Prana and Full Moon are directly related. The reason there is an increased activity in the oceans is due to the increased gravitational influence by the moon during fool moon days. Similarly, Full Moon has an effect on the prana in our body. Hence, an increased activity. My energy build up 2 days before full moon and stays 2 days after full moon. The impact of full moon is well known - 1. The word lunatic comes from lunar - moon 2. There is a report which tells that there is an increase in madness during full moon. 3. In Hinduism - moon is the king of manas or mind. 4. There is a report in the internet that correlates increased crime rate, accidents during full moon. 5. Hinduism asks to fast during full moon and stop yogic practices - to minimise the increase in prana 6. You may be familiar with the caution " Avoid practicing yoga on the full or new moon! " This tradition of observing " moon days " stems from the belief in the Ashtanga system that practicing at either extreme of the lunar cycle leaves you vulnerable to injury. One theory is that because the body consists mainly of water, you are affected, like the ocean's tides, by the moon: On full-moon days the pull of the moon is so strong that your prana (life force) moves upward, leaving you feeling headstrong and liable to push yourself beyond your limits; on new-moon days, the pull of the moon is so diminished that you find yourself lacking motivation. The ultimate time to practice, then, is during the middle of the lunar cycle, when the moon is a half circle and your prana is balanced. You can observe for yourself if this is true. Regardless, conceiving of the moon this way can provide helpful imagery for Parivrtta Ardha Chandrasana. Guest guest
Hi Bruce - I also find that the energy expression is greater at certain times of the month and closer to the full moon. When looking deeper into astrology there are definite trends that are both predictable in terms of human behaviour and that tie in with planetary movements. Considering that our physical lives are controlled, time-wise, by the rotation of the earth, our seasons and their impact on our lives by the rotation of the earth around the sun, menses by the lunar cycle, there can be little doubt about the comparative placement of planets and the resultant effect on our being. Shaktipat timing is yet another case in question! Blessings - Jonathan
Guest guest
I also love the full moon. (Owooooo!) Also certain other cyclical events, like the solstices, equinoxes and a few other astrological convergences and the like. Sorry, not an expert on the astrological stuff. But with the heightened energies of these various times, dimensional doorways open that can provide great opportunites for self-transformation, if only we can notice them and step on through while the stepping is good. This does require some mindfulness -- the heightened energy causes emotions, thoughts, etc. to be amplified and intensified on top of our normal amplification due to Kundalini. Hence the references to luna-cy. But kundalini luna-cy is a good thing! Unless you're not practicing the safeties, in which case the mind and emotions are out of control and they will take you into less pleasant states of attention. Both directions, opening the gates of heaven or the gates of hell, are visits to our own karma, which we create each instant with our own attention.
