Guest guest
Dear All~ Have you ever noticed that the darkest part of the day is right before dawn? That moment of stillness, before the sun stretches and yawns over the horizon and awakens a new day. Have you ever noticed how you can cup the sunlight in your hands… then open them wide and watch it rain upon the land? It has been three months since setting foot along the Paseo canal trail. Resistance has left me feeling tired and lethargic and frail. I'm ready to experience the dawning of the day; to experience the light showering upon and within me and to permit my heart to cup that light. Along the route, I keep a watch out for the redtail hawk and burrowing owls, but instead notice my shadow. " I cannot catch you if I tried " , I say out loud as I bear witness to the form that incases " me " . If I change my direction, you (shadow) are now behind. Only in the darkness are we experienced a one. By the owl's burrows are a few cottontails and a duck. I question the duck's location with a " What are you doing over here? " Once I get on the other side of the hedge, I notice a darkness. Hmm, it's not a shadow, but rather its... a mound of fluff. She has 13 little chicks; each the size of a table spoon. They scurry under the bush where she then faces them and takes an inventory. You are SO BEAUTIFUL, I say. SO BEAUTIFUL, each and every one of you! Guest guest
Thank you for the walk on the trail - I see the mama duck with her newly hatched little ones- so precious so full of love of life- so as I sit here in my office you transport me to the outdoors and the gift of nature. Amazing how your words tell such a vivid story. I so enjoy your seeing life thru your eyes. Mine do not grasp the significance nor the little plays of nature as yours do - so thank you D- pure pleasure reading you...wish we had time to explore the trail together- one day perhaps... e
Guest guest
Dear Danielle, How lovely to see you on the Paseo trail, thank you for sharing your new dawn time there. I also loved what you said about only being able to see your shadow in the light... in darkness it is not visable at all. You are SO BEAUTIFUL Love Julia ---. om, " iamwaitingmoon " <iamwaitingmoon wrote: > > Dear All~ > > Have you ever noticed that the darkest part of the day is right before dawn? > >
