Guest guest
After the tibetans and when doing the alternative nostril breathing and the compression prayer is it better / correct to allow the breathing to find its own level where it becomes very slow or is it better / correct to focus on the breathing and consciously move the air through the nostrils at a quicker pace? Guest guest
Hi Julia, usually after doing the Tibetans I am a little short winded and then doing the nostril breathing afterwards helps me to get balanced/calmed down to ready me for meditaion after that. I do the alternate nostril breathing slowly with deep breathes. Guest guest
Thanks for your reply Linda. After the tibetans I am not really short winded much, I find that the breath slows down and becomes slower and slower. Recently I have found that I am not " content " with the breath / prayer relationship, it is some how out of sinc. for example, I am finished the prayer repetitions and I am still inhaling and again on the out breath I have finished the words and the breath is still moving out. My breath has gotten so slow that it takes a very very long time to do 21 of them and I find this can be difficult to stay with. On the other hand sometimes it can become so meditative that I cannot stay with the words. The crux of the matter seems to be my breath, so it occured to me that perhaps I should be activly moving and pacing the breath in and out of the nostrils. If there is no specific or correct way of pacing the breath during the alternative nostril breathing and compression prayer then I think I will try breathing in a more pro=active and directive way and see what occurs. Again thanks Linda.
