U-turn

Dear All:

I had an unusual encounter. I was waiting in the turn lane which seemed to be

forever. My attention was caught by a woman sitting at the bus stop. I noticed

that her legs were trembling. Initially I thought she may be singing, and so I

looked up to see her expression. She was crying rather hard. For whatever the

reason as I sat there, I watched her for a few moments, felt an ache in pull in

my heart and felt drawn to go check on her.

 

As soon as the traffic budged, I flipped a u-turn and parked at Walgreens (where

you can purchase a Neti Pot btw). I walked up to her as if not a stranger, but

an old friend. I sat down next to her and said, " hi " and thought " are you ok? " .

I work by a hospital and she expressed that she was returning from having

visited a family member etc. I just listened with an open heart and all ears.

That's all I did-listen...and as she spoke her shaking and tears subsided. More

people arrived and the bus came. I wished her well-sent her my blessings, and we

shook hands. It was an odd encounter, but a very special detour to my usual

drive home.
