Guest guest
Hi, I am a new member of the group.my name is Sanket.i am 42 years old. I am from India. I have been blessed with traditional Indian shaktipat 12 years ago and I meditate regularly. My purpose of joining the group is I am curious about shaktipat offered here and also if possible I want to recommend this group to people I know who are interested in shaktipat. If someone can tell me whether and how shaktipat offered here is different from traditional Indian shaktipat it would be helpful. Two points I found somewhat different I will mention but I am not sure about it because I do not know about shaktipat offered here fully. In our tradition shaktipat meditation means once you have received shaktipat just sit with closed eyes daily as much as possible and let shakti do whatever she wants to do and just observe as witness.according to our tradition after shaktipat, shakti is active for 24 hours but minimally- it gets maximum opportunity to work when you sit with closed eyes. Is it same here?because I read safeties ,they are simply beautiful but I did not find ,sitting meditation with closed eyes,as routine to be followed in there. Also I found some posts mentioning some amount of discomfort due to activated kundalini,of course I do not know whether they have received shaktipat.in our tradition such discomfort is not common at all.i personally did not feel any discomfort at all due to activated kundalini for past 12 years and I have also not heard anyone else experiencing such discomfort. I will once again mention that safeties are beautiful and I also try to follow many things mentioned there spontaneously for last 4-5 years. Congratulations to you all on a very active and friendly group. Sanket

Guest guest
Hi Sanket and welcome. Here we have shaktipat four times a year by Chrism. They shaktipat is given for a 7 day period with a scatterfield which is a type of protection to help a person recieve by how much they are praticing the safeties. Meditation is part of the safeties. We practice the safeties everyday, not just during the time shaktipat is being given. Some people arrive here with their kundalini already activate and may be experiencing some of the discomforts you spoke of. Most, once they began the practice of the safeties are relieved of the problems they are having. Guest guest
Welcome to the group. As a new member I havent received Shatipat and my kundalini was awakened spontaneously. It has been quite an uncomfortable experience at times, but I have come to realise that is only because I had no idea what was taking place and why. What was initially a very confusing, fear filled, and at times uncomfortable experience for me seems to have transformed in to one of absolute bliss, beauty and connection since joining this group and realising that I can trust and surrender fearlessly to Shakti. Suddenly the universe has become purposeful and feels to be working with me and through me and talking to me in ways I have never noticed before whereas a few short weeks ago I felt very confused, and completely out of any sort of flow or oneness. I wonder if I had had this group or someone that could help me to understand back in the early stages, whether it would have been an easier process. I am quite sure it would have been, while at the same time I feel my process so far has unfolded exactly the way it was supposed to and will continue to do so. Anyway just a few thoughts from my perspective....again welcome to the group. Hugs Jo , " danceswithcats999 " <crazycats711 wrote: > > Hi Sanket and welcome. Guest guest
Yes Welcome Sanket, Sitting in meditation with eyes " up " is best done with eyes closed. So though it may not have been mentioned directly it is there through application of the safeties. Blessings to you and welcome again Sanket! - chrism , " joshisanket63 " <joshisanket63 wrote: > > Hi, > I am a new member of the group.my name is Sanket. Guest guest
Sanket, Welcome to our group. Meditation is certainly a practice here, and it is one of the safeties. Much love, David
Guest guest
Hi Sanket, Welcome to the group! I don't know if you will find things different here or not, since I am not familiar with traditional Indian shaktipat. I imagine that having a tradition of shaktipat in itself helps lessen the discomfort, as many Westerners struggle with the " impossibility factor " of the changes Shakti brings, and the resulting fear and resistance cause much of the discomfort. Since you already have a framework for understanding the experiences, it makes sense to me that your opening has gone smoothly. I think as you explore the Safeties, you'll find that meditation is embedded in them. There is the quiet sitting meditation with hands in gyon mudra and eyes pointed up to the brow, there is the alternate nostril breathing with mantra, there is meditation on the Shakti prayer, there is the active meditation of the Five Tibetan Rites, and there is the mindfulness meditation in constant practice of gratitude, prayer, forgiveness, tolerance, trust, inner joy, service to others and intentional relationship with plants as food. I am looking forward to reading of your experiences, and join others in welcoming you to the group. Peace, Shaz --- " joshisanket63 " wrote: Hi, I am a new member of the group.my name is Sanket.
