Neck/shoulder chakra?

I've been having to repeat the mantra all weekend, " I surrender my body, I

surrender my body to You. " I've been fatigued, sore, fuzzy-headed, unable to

accomplish my usual weekend chores and responsibilities.

Yesterday I gave in and spent much of the day in Tibetans, meditation, prayer

and service. I found that moving into the fatigue and slowness made my

meditation more focussed. I'd been experiencing a lot of monkey-mind lately.

After I completed my practice, I felt better and had more energy. Last night I

had several Shakti dreams, after months of quiet.

Today I've had to do the errands and chores I tabled yesterday, and I am looking

fwd to an evening practice.

I am rambling, but I do have a question in the midst of all this. I am wondering

if there is a shoulder/neck chakra, and if so, how to unblock it? I strained my

right shoulder pulling weeds back in March, and I've had trouble since - from

my neck down to my fingertips. The neck pain is growing worse, stiffer, some

headaches. I've not experienced this before. Does anyone know if there is a

chakra there, and have any suggestions as to how I can move into it to help it

release?

Thanks in advance,

Shaz

Gosh! Shaz, you sound like me. I have been in a fog like state all weekend, too.

It was even worse this morning. I got feeling like half of me was left back

there in those crazy weird dreams I kept having all night. I was too much in a

fog to write them down each time I woke up from one. I kept feeling like I was

not were I was suppose to be each time, like I wasn't me exactly.

The same thing happened with me too, with the weed pulling. I have had neck pain

on the right side all weekend.

I think there are energy centers on the top end of the shoulders where it

connects to the arm. I use to get pain there a lot doing the Tibetans during

shaktipat weeks. I think it was the 4th T that was causing the pain.

Linda

Hello Shaz, here's a link on this not-sure on the quality of information. From

what I understand the thymus

is related to communication, the heart and higher heart gate-way.....this is

where I have issue's as well.

Blah mines hurting to but yesterday I tried Chrisms post about breathing into

the charkas.....whoa that really

moved it around. I breathed into the heart it pushed it up-wards to the

thymus....I breathed into that area

and it pushed it back to the heart LOL! So today I wanted to ask about

this. Btw as painful as it is

I do feel blessed to be working on these area's. Its great progress for you as

well!

Linda,

I sound like you? That is a good thing; I have a lot of respect for you.

I think the fog I've been experiencing is linked to the full moon. It seems

particularly powerful this month.

Thank you for the information on the shoulder chakras. I'll keep my inner eyes

peeled. So to speak.

Peace,

Shaz

Thank you, Kat, for the link. This is very interesting. Thymus, 8, turquoise,

water, immune function, social, I Am. A lot of that resonates for me. I will

meditate on this. Thank you.

I think chrism cautions against the chakra breathing except during shaktipat, to

prevent unintended energy breakthroughs. or others, can you clarify?

Thank you again.

Peace,

Shaz

Perhaps your Shakti doesnt need to have you do the first Tibetan at all.

And to be clear doing the first Tibetan does not typically cause the Kundalini

to break through violently with most people. This is why the Tibetans were even

included into the safeties. They are safe. They are safe for the Kundalini.

Your particular advice from your Shakti may of course be unique for you but the

first Tibetan isnt dangerous for most. Except for some dizziness it is merely a

conditioning exercise. -

Hi Shaz, the respect is mutual.

I don't think I can blame my fogginess on the fullmoon this time, mine started

after the effect of the full moon ended. My day yesterday was strange. It seemed

I could not focus enough to speak in full sentences and time would elapse

between my half sentences, I think. My grandson kept making comments about

things I was saying. I was confusing him and me. Or I was confusing him and then

he was confusing me. My computer was not functioning all the well al day either.

It is like there is a connection and if I am not balanced and functioning right

then it does not either.:)

I feeling somewhat better today and my computer is working better today as well.

I have to really work hard to ofcus stll though.

I had much of the same type of dreams agian last night, but didn't get up today

feeling like part of me was left in dreamland.

I have a lot of tension in my head and eys.It is hard to keep my eyes open.

Hmmm... interesting. I have read about this chakra on another site.

Interesting that it's number is 8 and it is the seat of the soul and governs

compassion and inner peace and connection with collective soul, being that 8 is

the christ number.:) The seat of the soul would be same as the Holy of Holies

within a person.

Hmmm.. It was my middle finger on my right hand that was very sore recently. I

woke up from sleep that night with sharp pains and tingling in the tip and I had

my thumb connected to it, sort of rubbing it like and my thumb was jerked away

from doing that. :) I am having problems with focus. I have not been able to

meditate for days now.

Hi Kat and linda,

like linda mentioned I have also woken up to find my fingers in certain

positions... also during meditation without me being aware of it actually

happening my finger positions used to change from the usual postion to other

positions... I did look up about mudras then and took note of some of them...

these mudras are done with the two hands...

What I read was that the position of the middle finger to thumb is called the

Akash mudra and it helps centre your energies and nourishes any part of your

body that is lacking....

Another mudra I noted was the Bhudy mudra, this is where the baby finger and

thumb connect and this helps you to get in touch with your innermost feelings.

Hi All, (Kat, Linda. Julia) and All,

Before I came to the KAS1 site - I didn't know what a mudra was!! lol

For years - my fingers went naturally to the Akash mudra position and still do

in my sleep. It was only after I read the safeties that I changed to the guyan

position. It feels like it connects the circuit for me - buzz snap - pop!! I

do find when I remember to do the guyan mudra during the day - driving, walking,

talking the energy flows easily.

We are marvelously made - aren't we!!!

Hi Helen... yes yes yes.. we are marvelously made...lol.. it is truely so

wonderful.

I too find that when I carry the guyan mudra with me during the day it is an

ongoing connection to the divine ... also I love keeping the tongue up and this

is another connection to the divine and helps the energy flow ... I have even

found myself talking with my tongue up on a few occasions...lol!

Hello Julia and Linda, Thank you Julia. I found the information I needed and

took Danielle's advice about

my dream(thanks so much sweets!). It for me was a cue to reconnect and listen

again and Ive been going thru a

major clearing. I found it to be a mudra for hearing. Linda and I were raised

Christians and the right hand and

hearing are mentioned in the bible. So Linda I found this of interest.  You

had stated that you where having a hard time meditating...strange dreams and the

event with anger and how you felt. We meditate to make the connection

so we may clear ourselves and understand our purpose. Then we DO IT lol:) Seems

alot of us are working on this.

Hindus call this finger the heavenly finger and classify it with the throat

chakra. Take a look at it. It is the longest finger, and towers over the others.

Its energy radiates far into infinity. It could also be considered the stairway

to Heaven. Saturn, which is classified with it, is located toward the

edge of our solar system and is also called the " keeper of the threshold. "

We are held accountable for our lives at the gates of Heaven. We also find

this symbolism in the throat chakra, the gateway of purity, which only opens

when the student is pure in spirit and in heart. However, in order to progress

on our spiritual path, we must first fulfill our duties on Earth.

This is indicated by its inherent meridians: the circulation meridian and

the deep meridian of the gallbladder. Both help us seize and master the

challenges of life. Drive, activity, risk, and the joy of taking action are

their

dualities. The spectrum of the middle-finger energy ranges from an active

life to spheres far into the world beyond. It could be briefly summarized

with the following saying, " God helps those who help themselves. "

Exercise

Sit or lie down. Now encircle your right middle finger with the four fingers

of your left hand. The left thumb extends to the middle of your right

hand. Close your eyes.

Imagine yourself doing what you like to do most. Make full use of

your inclinations and talents as you master all the obstacles placed

in your path, and enjoy your activities. You are successful at what

you do and mentally envision what your success looks like. What

you do enriches the world (your family, individual human beings,

or the entire world). Extensively imagine the constant contact with

the divine forces that help you and show you the way.

If your occupation does not satisfy you and if you have no leisure

activities or interests that suit you, then it is time to ask within, to

press your inner wisdom until you receive an answer. At the same

time, also ask for the initiative, which the middle finger symbolizes,

to actually tackle the matter at hand. And, above all, request help

from the divine powers—enter into a close, trusting partnership

with them.

Keep holding your finger in silence for a while and feel the warmth flowing into

you. Then encircle your left middle finger and hold it for a while.

These hand positions also have an excellent effect on tension in the neck.

Love,

Kat

Thanks Kat, that all resonated with me and I tried that mudra for just a little

just now. When I held my right middle finger it began to pulsate and when I

switched and held the left middle finger, my throat began to pulsate. I will try

it more when I do my meditation later.

Thanks

Hehe thanks Helen, I did find myself doing guyan position and was unsure why I

kept being pointed to the

the right mid-finger. As for the left nostril Ive read about the alternative

breathing but unsure if it means...to

do that or breath thru the right or left lol! Silly question but where I am with

that.

Love,

Kat.

I woke up from sleep that night with sharp pains and tingling in the tip and I

had my thumb connected to it, sort of rubbing it like and my thumb was jerked

away from doing that. :) I am having problems with focus. I have not been able

to meditate for days now.

Re: Neck/shoulder chakra?

Thanks Kat, that all resonated with me and I tried that mudra for just a little

just now. When I held my right middle finger it began to pulsate and when I

switched and held the left middle finger, my throat began to pulsate. I will try

it more when I do my meditation later.

Thanks

Linda
