Guest guest
Dear & All: In my waking I had repeating in my head and heart, Upanisad. What can you tell me about the Upanisad. (spelling???) I had this amazing dream of the indefinability of reality and the cloud of unknowing; the radiant blackess of the womb...of her blackness, her beautiful midnight blackness. This black light's radiance was beyond whatever I had known as light, yet at the same time it constituted all physical, intellectual, and spiritual light. I had part of this writing scribbled on my notepad and so I looked it up this morning. I'm going to surf a bit on Kali to " understand " better where this fits into Shiva/Shakti. Ramprasad Sen: Why is Mother Kali so radiantly black? Because she is so powerful, that even mentioning her name destroys delusion Because she is beautiful, Lord Shiva, Conquerer of Death, lies bliessfully vanquished beneath her red-soled feet. There are subtle hues of blackness, but her bright complexion is the mystery that is utterly black, overwhelmingly black, wonderfully black. When she awakens in the lotus shrine within the heart's secret cave, her blackness becomes the mystic illumionation that causes the twelve-petal blossom there to glow more intensely than golden embers. Whoever gazes upon this radiant blackness falls enternally in love. Blessings. ~Danielle
Guest guest
D - reading this from you I was pulled to find the following and the term mystic was shown to me - I often feel you act like a gage for me and possibly others here on the group. With your personal events and meditative insights you present themes that are important to others. So here is just a brief note. As for mystic my brief browsing left me with the idea that a mystic does not necessarily understand all that is given. I maybe misunderstood yet this makes sense to me. Prophets do not necessarily know what they are presenting. Kind of like here is the info now you figure out what it means in relation to you. I enjoyed reading the definition of Upanishads as being sitting at the feet of the teacher which we are doing and the last sentence in this thread becoming the " all " . Is that not what this journey is all about?? ************** Meaning of 'Upanishad' The term 'Upanishad' literally means, " sitting down near " or " sitting close to " , and implies listening closely to the mystic doctrines of a guru or a spiritual teacher, who has cognized the fundamental truths of the universe. It points to a period in time when groups of pupils sat near the teacher and learnt from him the secret teachings in the quietude of forest 'ashrams' or hermitages. In another sense of the term, 'Upanishad' means 'brahma-knowledge' by which ignorance is annihilated. Some other possible meanings of the compound word 'Upanishad' are " placing side by side " (equivalence or correlation), a " near approach " (to the Absolute Being), " secret wisdom " or even " sitting near the enlightened " . The Main Books Although there are more than 200 Upanishads, only thirteen have been identified out as presenting the core teachings. They are the Chandogya, Kena, Aitareya, Kaushitaki, Katha, Mundaka, Taittriyaka, Brihadaranyaka, Svetasvatara, Isa, Prasna, Mandukya and the Maitri Upanishads. One of the oldest and longest of the Upanishads, the Brihadaranyaka says: " From the unreal lead me to the real! From darkness lead me to light! From death lead me to immortality! " The crux of the Upanishads is that this can be achieved by meditating with the awareness that one's soul ('atman') is one with all things, and that 'one' is 'Brahman', which becomes the 'all'. ***************** A mystic is essentially a person who pursues a truth or understanding beyond those normally associated with the human experience. A mystic may or may not be initiated into any number of spiritual or religious mysteries, and may or may not have achieved the insight they are pursuing. What links all mystics is the belief in, and pursuit of, a transcendent truth which surpasses exclusively rational understanding or knowing. For Christians the major emphasis of mysticism concerns a spiritual transformation of the egoic self, the following of a path designed to produce more fully realized human persons, " created in the Image and Likeness of God " and as such, living in harmonious communion with God, the Church, the rest of humanity, and all creation, including oneself. Blessings to you and your continual discoveries of inner knowing... e
Guest guest
The Upanishads are sacred texts of Hinduism. There are many good translations - I like the one by Swami Prabhavananda. Love, David
Guest guest
Hi Danielle, Some weeks ago when working on surrender the word Kali was said by me in place of the word shakti... this was a suprise to me as I knew not of kali... Kali was said on a continuous basis and I also experienced intense dreams at this time and I too wondered what the significance of kali was in relation to shakti... I was told that kali was all about surrender and that she is the female warrior godess that forces this issue... there were some amazing happenings occured to me around this time of kali presence which I still treasure and hold within my heart. Your post reminded me of this... thanks love julia , " iamwaitingmoon " <iamwaitingmoon wrote: > > Dear & All: > > In my waking I had repeating in my head and heart, Upanisad. Guest guest
Kali can also be thought of as the Goddess of rapid spiritual transformation. The steep path of the Loving Mother. Bliss. Love, David
Guest guest
If Shakti is coming to you in Her aspect of the Dark Mother, be prepared to surrender everything. She will find all the places where ego is hiding. But do not be afraid - it is all good! Embrace Her with Love, Devotion, and Surrender. If Shakti is coming to you in this form, it is because you are ready to embrace Her and to surrender to Her in all Her aspects.
