Deity
Hi, We conducted a Pooja this Navratri at our home for Grah-shanti of my dad as told by the brahmins. In the mid of the pooja the Brahman asked me to keep the agarbatti's placed beside the kalash (durga sthapna) in the kitchen. When I asked him the reason he said that the other Brahman who was about to attend the pooja was allergic to smoke. The Pooja then followed by a Havun at the end which left me confusion that if the brahman was allergic to smoke then how did he do the Havun. I know it might sound very stupid but I can't remove this incidence from my head. Can some one please guide me?
VibhutiGanesh
You are right. With the Karma Kanda turning commercial, all such compromises are allowed. I have seen pundit spitting Pan-parag amids performing pooja...! This is the reason, our spirituality and karma-kanda rituals are rediculed..!
