there are a few old and new kannada channels in bangalore which broadcast programmes that are against the core hindu religion.some times they say burning inscense is wrong.sometimes lighting lamp is unscientific.instead they show animal sacrifice(bison) in their channels.they are completely misleading their viewers(kannada).i am seeing this anti-national and anti-hindu trend has spread to remote(hassan)parts of karnataka.some say it is the result of bellary mining scandal money which is making kannadigas as anti social and anti national.if this trend is not putoff sooner or later it will harm hinduism and india.

I quite agree with the above views. There is some unknown hands, working behind. They are against Hinduism and Hindu culture. Their cruel eyes are set on the the treasure (money-gold and jewelry) in famous temple, and they are mooting suggestions why should it not be used for welfare of Society, which does not cover of other communities. There are innumerable scams of politicians already known to the public. Temple treasure also will also be swindled similarly.  All these are happening only because of Hindus are ununited. Those who are trying to unite people they are being treated as political untouchables, that too by Hindus only. This is certainly a pity state of affairs. Shri David Frauley has also written a book on this titled "A Nation that did not learn a lesson'. God bless this country.

(1) Burning incence : By burning incence scents emenates. Smell is 'Gandha Tanmaatra'. The root of 'Gandha Tanmaatra' is 'Moolaadhaara Chakra'. Smell stimulates that chakra, when 'Sushumna Naadi' also opens. Then 'Kundalini" awakens according to Ashtaanga Yoga. In poojas also 'Praana Pratishthaapana' is an essential Part, for which Kundalini awakening is essential. Kundaliniawakening is also required for 'Mantra Japa' also. The incence also should be made of 'Ashta Gandhas' as prescribed, which include Sri chandana, Chandana, Paccha Karpoor (camphor), Kesari, Jataa Maamsi, Gorochana, another two I have forgotten. It should not be appled on a Bamboo stick, which is harmful.

(2) Regarding Burning oil lamps : Please see 'Mahaa Naaradeeya Purana' which gives details of how many 'battis' (cotton threads) and what kind of oil must be used for different deities and different 'prayogas' (purposes) like 'Shanti'; 'Vasheekarana'; 'Aakarshana'; 'Ucchaatana'; 'Sthambana' and 'Maarana'. Similarly theertham & prasaadam also, our ancesstors were extremely wise and it is for our good. Calling it blind belief is utmost ignorance.
