Guest Hari
What is Shankara's view on Krishna? Has he accepted that Krishna has eternal forms and is the Lord of the Universe and controls the jivas? Or he taught that Krishna is just imagination in the mind which disappears after realization? Thank you for your answers in advance.

hinduism♥krishna
What is Shankara's view on Krishna? Thank you for your answers in advance. Dear Hari , first know what is shri krishna . Shri krishna is the manifestation of absolute bramhan . He is the lord of the universe . In gita shri krishna himself says that he takes a human form and he is originally unmanifested . Yes , shri krishna is controller of jiva . But shri krishna himself acts as a jiva . In really what is protected is krishna only . ( PROOF - bp 1.2.33) Krishna's real nature is bramhan which is formless and nirguna . Bhagavan manifestes himself in form only for inferior devotees who are unable to concentrate on nirguna formless nature of bramhan . Besides Bhagavata purana is advaitian vaishnawa's scripture . What adi shankara taught , the same thing shukadeva says to parikshita in that purana . Shukadeva says to parikshita : "aham bramha param dham bramhaham paramam padam, evam samikshya chatmanamatmanyadhaya nishkale " (11) { You should meditate like this :'I am all pervading bramhan ,I am that all pervading parabramhan .In this way,you should fix your self steady in ever-lasting Atma. } [ BP 12.5.11 ] Hari krishna hari
