Guest guest
Amidst chanting of holy vedic mantras, revival work of GOMATI GANGA at Kosi in VRAJA DHAM started on 11th february 2000, with the blessings of most renounced saint, Sri Ramesh Baba of Gehvarvan (Barsana) and Swami Guru Sharnanandji of Ramanreti (Mahavan). "Naam Sankirtan Parikrama of the city started from Bhagvati Devi Temple under the stewardship of Sri Ramesh Baba. Devotees in the Hari Naam Parikrama were seen chanting and dancing in ecstacy, motivating people to participate with body, mind and money for serving "DHAM". Parikrama was welcomed at hundreds of places and arti was offered to Sri Sri Radha Krishna and prasadam was distributed. In the evening lecture, sri Ramesh baba narrated history of appearance of GOMATI GANGA. And that like many Ganges of VRAJA ( Manasi Ganga etc.), this is also very purifying and potent and that with its touch only one gets rid of cumulative sins of thousands of births. GOMATI GANGA apeeared at Dwarkapuri with love tears of Sri Dwarkanath. Same GOMATI appeared at KOSI (Vraja Dham), when Krishna wished so to please Nandbaba and other residents of Vraja. Though without any financial resources, this retrieval plans/discussions going on for last few years had to be put to practice now, otherwise GOMATI would have completely disappeared and no traces would have been left like so many other places of Krishnas pasttime. Dewatering is going on at the pond, to clear the sewerage water of the city which finds easy way into it. An elaborate plan has been drawn for removal of encroachments, desilting (2 feet excavation of 6642sq.mt), Boulder and RCC lining around pond( to stop city sewer water to find its way into), repair of existant bridge, walkway construction, boring/pumpstation construction ( for filling the pond ) and electrification. The estimated expence will be around Rs.35 lakhs( $90000) depending on the timely availability of funds. A committee comprising of 8 prominent devotees has been constituted to manage the work which once completed will be maintained by the Govt. Round the clock Naam Sankirtan is going on at the place by devotees from Manmandir and local devotees also. In the morning it also goes around the city to create awareness. Sri Ramesh baba said that serving "DHAM" is as good as serving Krishna and that this being transcendental service does not pertain to a single devotee or a single institution or a single sampradaya and appealed to all Vaishnavas and institutions and religious persons to assocciate themselves and to donate generously for protection of the "DHAM".
