The Sanskriti Bharati Society is a world-wide educational movement that is attempting to revive Sanskrit as a spoken language. In less that two decades, this organization has taught several hundred-thousand people to carry out daily conversations in Sanskrit. In India, they have created several entire villages in which the residents speak nothing but Sanskrit to each other as their primary means of daily communication. Please help to revive the language of Krsna by attending this wonderful nine day camp. There will be Sanskrit classes for people on every level - from those who have never even known one letter of Devanagari, to those who have been studying Sanskrit for years. Below are all of the details. Take care, all! Your Servant, Pranakrsna dasa (Frank Morales) SAMSKRITA BHARATI Announces Residential Sanskrit Camp Camp Details: When : July 1 through July 9, 2000. Fees : Only $500 per person; $800 per family. Children under 14: free. Advanced Class is for those who have a prior knowledge of Sanskrit. All will be trained to conduct 'Speak Sanskrit' classes. Study sessions also cover grammar and Sanskrit literature. Beginners' Class is for those who have no or little knowledge of Sanskrit. Spoken language, writing and reading in Devanagari will be taught. Children's Class is for all children who will be accompanying their parents. A kid-friendly syllabus and method will be used for teaching Sanskrit to children. Other Features: Physical exercises, including yoga and games, will be taught in Sanskrit. Special sessions to teach the correct way of Vedic chanting using the examples of 'puruSha sUktam', 'viShNusahasranAma', 'taittriya upanishad' and other Hindu texts.
