Guest guest
Resources for Learning Sanskrit This fall Samskrita Bharati, the South Indian organization dedicated to reviving Sanskrit as a spoken language, will release a two-CD set for learning the language. It is excellently done, including dictionaries, alphabet instruction, grammar tutorials, and illustrated dialogue. I will post a follow-up notice when the CD's become available. One of their best teachers in America, Vasuvaj, would like to have a three day (or longer?) Sanskrit intensive seminar available this spring (2001) on America's east coast, possibly in the North Carolina/Washington DC area. Their general plan is to rent a campground for the program so participants aren't distracted by their normal work, and then do everything in Sanskrit. Having personally just finished one of their nine-day "camps", I can say that their methods are fun and effective. We would need at least fifty participants, adults and children, (Vasuvaj just visited our school here in North Carolina and was inspired to suggest the camp because of the enthusiasm of the students.) from beginners to experts. If you are at all interested (there would be some fee to cover prasadam, housing, etc.) in participating and/or organizing, please contact me by the end of October urmila@com.org Your servant, Urmila devi dasi
