Guest guest
Respectful Dandavat Pranams To All The Devotees. All Glories To Sri Guru And Sri Gauranga! We are pleased to announce that Om Visnupada Sri Srimad Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja once again will be sprinkling His mercy upon us here in Hawaii. FESTIVAL DATES AND LOCATIONS: 15 thru 20 January, 2002. The festival, on the Island of Oahu, will be in two parts. Part one is at the Malaekahana State Recreation Center, private property section, cabin #1, where it was last April. We will occupy that cabin from 12:00 NOON TUESDAY JANUARY 15TH TO 12:00 NOON FRIDAY JANUARY 18TH. That is the location of the program for those dates and times only. These days are full day programs. Part two: Beginning on the evening of the 18th, there will be evening programs only, held at the house of Sriman Vrndaban Prabhu, for the EVENINGS OF THE 18TH, 19TH, AND 20TH, (FRIDAY, SATURDAY, AND SUNDAY). ACCOMODATIONS: From 12:00 noon Tuesday thru 12:00 noon Friday, the devotees may stay at the cabins in Malaekahana Park which already have been reserved for our program. Cabin #1 (4 bedroom, 3 bath, meeting room, large kitchen) is where the men will stay. Cabin #5 (3 bedroom, 2 bath) is where the women will stay. Please bring your own sleeping gear insofar as none is provided at the cabins. If you choose to do so, tent camping is also permitted on the lawn contiguous to Cabin #1. Please bring your own tent and camping gear. After 12:00 noon on Friday the 18th, these cabins are no longer available to the devotees. Therefore, those devotees who want to remain in the area for the subsequent 3 evening programs can tent camp in this area where the programs were held. (You would bring your own tent and camping gear). There is good public bus transportation running every half hour up and down the highway between the park and Sriman Vrndavan's house. Moreover, if there is a substantial number of devotees staying at the park at this time, we may be able to provide van transportation from the house to the park. FESTIVAL FEES: $100 per person staying in cabin or tent. $30 for each additional adult in a tent. $15 for each child. Includes meals. For those persons who are not staying on the site, a $10 donation per day is requested to cover the cost of meals. SPECIFIC ADDRESS: Friends of Malaekahana Malaekahana Recreation Area Cabin #1 56-335 Kamehameha Hiway North Shore of Oahu DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS FROM AIRPORT: Upon leaving the airport, take highway H-1 heading west. You will by-pass Pearl City in the process. Then get on H-2 heading north. That is, when the time comes, get in the lane that is labled "H-2 North" and/or "Mililani" and/or "Wahiawa". Any one of those three directional signs will put you on H-2 going north. Highway H-2 going north will by-pass the towns of Mililani and Wahiawa. After by-passing Wahiawa, H-2 will automatically merge into Hiway 99, which is also known as Kamehameha Highway. When you reach the town of Haleiwa, continue north on Kamehameha Highway, which will now be called Hwy 83. Immediately after the town of Kahuku, you will cross a bridge. (One exits the town of Kahuku by crossing over that bridge). After the bridge, your second and third left are entrances to the park. The sign will read: Malaekahana State Recreation Center/Kahuku Section. Approximately 1 hour from the airport. Note: There is another Malaekahana State Park 1/8 mile past our site.
