Guest guest Posted July 10, 2003 Report Share Posted July 10, 2003 Bangalore, India - ISKCON Communications reports that earlier this year Sri Shanker Dayal Sharma inaugurated the new ISKCON temple in Bangalore, India. Other dignitaries attending was the first lady of India, Srimati Vimala Sharma, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sri J.H Patel, and the Governor of Karnataka, Sri Khurshed Alam Khan. In a speech the President praised the Founder-acarya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, for his work of "broadcasting India?s devotional tradition of bhakti ". The temple was named "Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu Center for Advancement of Culture" and contains 5 separate temples, an outdoor auditorium for 1,500, a 450 seat air-conditioned theater and quarters for residents and guests.
