Guest guest
Kumba Mela in Haridwar, 1998. By Lokanath Swami. Come and get the nectar over which the demigods and demons battled over. ISKCON will be setting up a camp for preaching to the masses. Prabhupada personally took part in the Allahabad Kumba Mela on two occasions. He went there with a large number of his western followers and stayed right there on the river bed in a tent. This year in March and April, immediatly following the Mayapur/Vrndavana festivals, ISKCON India is setting up a camp. We would like to encourage all ISKCON leaders and devotees from all parts of the world to take part in the Kumba Mela preaching festival. This is a time for book distribution, prasadam distribution and Harinama sankirtana. There will be millions of pilgrims from all over India and the globe. This is the largest religious gathering on the earth. This is an unparalled preaching opportunity to distribute books, prasadam and the holy name. We will have a pandal set up to give lectures and stage programs. Schedule: Mayapur: Feb. 19 to 26 GBC meetings. Feb. 27 Parikrama starts. Mar. 5 Parikrama ends. Mar. 6 to 13 Gaura Pournima Festival. Mar. 16 to 23 Vrndavana Festival (Approximate dates) Kuruksetra Rathayatra will follow the Vrndavana Festival. The ISKCON camp will be up and running from 25th March until the middle of April. 28th March and 14th April are the main bathing in Ganga dates. ISKCON Delhi Temple Opening is on Ram Navami April 5.
