G. Sri Nathji Prabhu and H. G. Maithili Priya mataji. To fulfill the long-held desire of his mother, Sri Nathji Prabhu arranged for a 11 day Srimad Bhagavatam Saptah in Hindi, from 25th June to 5th July, at Prem Puri Ashram, just two buildings away from Sri Sri Radha Gopinath mandir. H. G. Gauranga Prabhu, one of the senior bramhacharis from the temple is narrating the Bhagavat Katha. The response to this most purifying and necterean Krishna Katha is overwhelming, with over 400 attendees sitting through the three hour long session each day. Srila Prabhupada's grace and Krishna's mercy is self evident in the beautiful philosophical discourses, which are holding the audience spell bound. Programme For Police Officers Held A programme for hundred police officers was organised by H. G. Govardhan Dhari Prabhu at Pune. This included CIDs & Special Branch Police officers. The DCP (Deputy Commissioner of Police) Shir Bhagwant More and ACP (Assistant Commissioner of Police) alos attended the programme. The police officers were thoroughly impressed with the wonderful presentation by H. G. Gauranga Prabhu who spoke on "Bhagavad Gita - Solution to Crime." Later the DCP Bhagwant More read out two shlokas from the sixteenth chapter of Srila Prabhupada's Bhagavad Gita As It Is. The programme was widely covered in various local newspapers from Pune. Spiritual Retreat On 19th June and 20th June 1998, the youth devotees of Sri Sri Radha Gopinath led by H. G. Sridama Prabhu had a spiritual retreat at Kelve beach (Palghar). The purpose was to be together and have close concentrated association. On Saturday, the 19th June, the devotees had Harinam Sankirtan on the main street of Palghar covering the Station road. They distributed about 40 small books and 1200 prasadam packets. Harinam continued for four hours. After returning from Harinam, they had different plays based on the pastimes contained in Srimad Bhagavatam and Chaitanya Charitamrita. On Sunday, the 20th June, the devotees had the whole morning programme followed by Srimad Bhagavatam class by H. G. Sridama Prabhu on "Importance of Bramhachari training." There was a very wonderful question-answer session after the class. On the whole, this was very inspiring for the devotees because it created a strong loving relationship between each other. Also the devotees realised that Krishna consciousness is a nice blend of fun and austerity to achieve the goal of life - Krishna Prema. Envy means, "I want to be seen as important and great and if anyone is a threat to my egoistic idea then there is negativity towards that person in my thoughts, in my words, in my actions.." But if devotees put humility as their goal, as their aspiration, then there is no question of envy. Therefore, the cardinal principle of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's movement is this verse from Shikshashtakam 'trinad api suni cena taror api sahishnuna amanina mana dena kirtaneya sada hari'. This is our aspiration. We must enter into the higher realms of consciousness. We should develop this consciousness of striving as our goal in life to be more humble than a blade of grass, more tolerant than a tree, to be ready to offer all respects to others, to expect no respect for one self. In this way, with a clean and sincere heart, chant the holy name of Krishna constantly. This is our aspiration - His Holiness Radhanath Maharaj - Hari Bol!
