Guest guest
The flood situation in Mayapur is the worst since the 1978 floods. The water level is just 15 cms below the first floor level of Chakra (Long) building and in the temple room it is 5 ft 3 inches. Narasimhadev is standing in knee deep water and Pancatattva deities are in the GBC conference room on the roof of the Conch building. All the deer swam away from their enclosure. Four of them were caught subsequently, out of which two died from injuries. The situation with the cows is critical due shortage of feed. The road to Mayapur from the Highway (Bhakti Siddhanta Road) is about 5-6 feet below water in places. The only way to approach Mayapur is through the road on the southern bank of the Jalangi and by boat from a certain point on that road. There are thousands of villagers living on this road in small tents made of whatever they could find - cement bags, plastic pieces etc. Many have not eaten in several days and it will be many more weeks before they can return to their devastated properties. Here in Mayapur, we have sufficient diesel to run our generator sets, so that we will have sufficient electricity to run our water pumps for safe drinking water. We also have sufficient stock of rice, dal etc for minimum 2 weeks for the devotees. Fresh fruits and vegetables are scarce and the prices have escalated due to the shortage. Due to this, it is advisable that visiting devotees from other places, do not plan visits to the dham at this point of time, as they may go through a lot of difficulty and their trip may not be very nice. In a discussion today with Racitambara Mataji, she has said that schools will not open before the first week of November. So, the parents should not send their children back, before this." Your servant. Upendra dasa -- FLOOD IN MAYAPUR Dear Vaisnavas, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Mayapur is facing one of the biggest floods ever. In temple compound the water is 2m deep! At least 20 km around Mayapur area is flooded. Buses and trains are not operating. Please avoid traveling to Mayapur at least for 2-3 weeks. Your servant, Madhusudana das.

Guest guest
Hare Krishna, I think this is Lord's lila. Didn't the government have plans to buy off temples, ashramas and samadhis to build roads. I prayed to Lord Narasimha to stop the evil people. May be this is a way to delay and finally stop this evil project.
Guest guest
Hare Krishna, I would take care of Lord Narasimha's deity in Mayapur and not leave HIM in water.
