Nayanananda Das Babaji Maharaja Leaves World

His Divine Grace Nayanananda Das Babaji passed away peacefully at 9.40 p.m on this day the 21 January in the midst of many devotees congregationly chanting the Holy-Name of the Lord in unison at Sree-Mayapur under the auspices of Sri Gopinath Gaudiya Math.

 

In the year 1926, he received initiation from His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Goswami Thakur Prabhupada, receiving the name Sri Satprasangananda Prabhu and known to all as Satish Prabhu. In implicit obedience to the instruction of his Spiritual master, he for many year served the Deities Sri Sri Gour-Gadhadhar in Champahati. These Deities were originally established by Dvija Vaninath, an associate of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Later in the year 1996 he went on to take the renounced order (Babaji Besh) from his beloved Godbrother, His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Pramode Puri Goswami Maharaj, Founder President and Acharya of Sri Gopinath Gaudiya Math, receiving the name Srila Nayanananda Das Babaji Maharaj. In the year 2000(May), he expressed the desire to spend his last days in Sri Gopinath Gaudiya Math, the Math of His Sannyas Guru of whom he had great love and regard. This was immediately expedited by the present Acharya Srimad B.B.Bodhayan Maharaj. Thus his last days was spent in peacefull bhajan.

Today Sripada Nayanananda das Babaji Maharaja, the intimate disciple of His Divine Grace Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur and the life long friend and associate of Srila Bhakti Pramode Puri Maharaja, has left this world at 9:40 PM, 21st January, at Sri Gopinath Gaudiya Math, Mayapur. Sripada Bodhayana Maharaja was present. Sripada Babaji Maharaja was a radiant light of kindness, humility, and steadfast in chanting the Holy Names which has been a great inspiration to all who have had his divine darshan. He has treated all with great affection and encouragement. May Srila Prabhupada always accept him in his eternal service. Many know Babaji Maharaja for his faithful and long service at Champahati temple. More details will follow in a few hours from Sripada Bodhayana Maharaja.
