Guest guest
July 23, 2003 (from the diary of a Padayatri) www.Padayatraamerica.com Mike is always bringing somebody to meet us - friends, co-workers, family. Today he brought a woman who he works with. She gave the couple their first Bhagavad Gita (1972 edition) and after hearing about our presence at their place, was eager to meet with us. We saw that she is very advanced in terms of devotion; familiar with Prabhupada's Bhagavad Gita for some 25 years. She was attentive and being encouraged to take the path of surrender to Krsna. Her desires are bringing her close to a "vanaprastha" style of life, so we explain the Vedic culture of detachment at a certain age to cultivate spiritual pursuits - doing pilgrimage, diminish social activity and family obligation. She came in front of Sri Sri Nitai Gaurasundar to pray for the desire to surrender, and as the culmination to the prayer reciting the maha mantra (for the first time?). After that she presented some jewelry "this is for your Deities - They are very happy I can see." Very intense conversation in front of Their Lordships, her eyes were moist and her attention deep. Their Lordships reciprocated with her desire and after many years of waiting she was able to get in contact with devotees, a temple, prasadam, and hear what she needed. She was ripe and Sri Sri Nitai Gaurasundar accepted her sweet offerings in a beautiful reciprocation.
