Guest guest
Hare Krishna, I'm troubled by the following, would appreciate answers: Apparently there are three stages to chanting: 1) Distracted stage - can't concentrate 2) Clearing stage - can concentrate but on nothing (a void - like Brahman realisation) 3) Devotee stage - u can actually feel Krishna's presence and visualise Him as you chant From Stage 2 to 3, is it best to a) just stay concentrating on the sound (this assumes that Stage 3 will happen naturally without purposely trying) or b) start thinking more about the image of Krishna in order to help yourself reach stage 3? Haribol!
Guest guest
who is really at the (2) stage does not ask these questions
Guest guest
forget the theory and just practice in front of a large image of the Lord that you find attractive, place it at eye level and focus on it as best you can, if your mind or eyes wander, just bring them back, don't strain by staring, make sure you're saying the mantra out loud and you're using beads, this occupies all your senses and helps to focus your mind, be sure you have good posture with an erect spine as this allows prana to move freely, a bent spine will zap you energy and focus, the more you fall in love with KRSNA the greater His presence of knowledge and bliss will be
