Guest guest
Hare Krishna, I'm troubled by the following, would appreciate answers: When Brahma created the first two humans 'Swayambhuva Manu' and 'Satirupa', they then conceived a child... Aren't they brother and sister if Brahma is there direct father? Or is it inevitable that at the beginning there was incest? Haribol

Guest guest
You have to understand that the first created children of Brahma( such as Rudra, Narada muni, manus, prajapatis, vasus etc. were his mental children. Mental children means that Brahmji did not need to have sex and mate to beget children like you and me need to do. So in that sense they were not really brother and sister. Our minds are contaminated with sex desire and because of that we tend to try and understand the lilas of the lord in a peverted way. So our mind jumps to conclusions such as 'incest' and all. The best remedy is to chant the holy names of the lord :Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare. This cleanses the mind (cheto darpanam marjanam) and thus with a pure consciousness we can drown ourselves in devotional service to the supreme Sri Sri Radha Krsna. bijubkb_01
Dear Prabhuli, Excellent answer. If human beings were given the power to produce their offsprings through their mind, everybody would have tried to make a very beautiful & attrating child through the mind. Definitely, they would not have tried to produce the child through sex. Only that organ could have used only for own sex enjoyment. So, we infinitesmall creatures should never compare ourselves with lord Brahma but only accept the scriptures and engage in devotional service to Srikrishna.
