Haribol,

I need the answer from somebody who knows a lot about Vedas - Rakshasas are a big part of the Mahabharata. What exactly are they? Atheists? Demons? Monsters? What is the actual meaning of a Rakshasa. I thought they were all evil, but actually a lot of them in Mahabharata help out the Pandavas in their quest for the Kingdom...

So my main qn is are Rakshasas lower or higher than Humans? Do Rakshasas exist nowadays, and if they do, how would one define them?

Hare Krishna
