How do we know?

Can KC really be described as a scientific process?

 

I mean, there seems to be a way out, an ad hoc explanation for everything:

 

1) if something good happens 'Krsna arranged it'

2) if something bad happens 'Maya attacking us' or 'Krsna testing us'

 

I say this because the very same thing twists round when preaching to those who are not practicing KC:

 

1) if something good happens to non-devotees, it is 'just good credits that they are using up' - (but they are still not living life correctly)

 

2) if something bad happens to non-devotees, it is not 'Maya testing them' - it is a just consequence of them living a life without Krsna-consciousness...

 

How can one be sure that these explanations are not just intuitive or assumptions?
