Guest guest
i am a Lord Krishna devotee. but i feel i have been the biggest hypocrite that ever existed. the reasons being: 1) i used to chant before.. then i got into bad company (u can say no self control) n i started drinking, seeing pornography n u know masturbating too.. 2) but now i have again started chanting stopped all these habits except masturbating.. i mean is it an offence??? last week i somehow felt it is wrong i have controlled myself till now .. but sometimes i feel it is ok and again start off doing that. can u please confirm whether it is wrong or is it ok to do that..because i have really been disturbed about the thought of whether it is right or wrong.. thanks
Guest guest
Dear Prabhu! chanting the holy name will never be offensive.we have all bad habits, and kama, lust is part of the package you had with this body. Sexual impulse is very difficult to overcome and illicit sex is always here to make us fall down. please keep on chanting, never give up. I had this same problem too, and i must admit honestly that sometimes i still feel this desire. If you are very addicted to this habit, do more sport, eat more alkaline food (like fruits, veggies, potatoes) instead of pasta, bread, cheese that are acid and keep the desires strong. The best is to regulate your sexual life with one partner and if it is the good one to marry. that is regulation, find one person you love, and very gradually control this more and more. it's a lifetime process. Guest guest
As described on the other topic below is good to study. Another item to keep in mind is that when one beging sadhana bhakti, his materialistic activities are turned off. Sometimes we must think of an electric fan, we turn off the power, but the blades keep spinning. They will spin, do not worry, just make sure you dont plug in tha fan of materialistic activities, cause the frustration from having the blades ALMOST stop, then power up again, then unplug, this makes ya crazy. But the fan is an excellent analogy, an excellent parable. And also remember that we cannot control our senses, we have no such power over Maya. Krsna does, however, and he controls her with her permission, and this happens as our love grows as a result of practicing sadhana bhakti. hare krsna, ys, mahaksadasa
seean
one of the main problems is that regarding this offence is that it is the only one i imagine one may do unto oneself and it can also weaken internal/external organs, waste expensive blood ratio 64 drops 2 1 drop seminal fluid. and waste time

Guest guest
do whatever is conducive to decreasing the desire for masturbation... for example, wake up early every morning, do deity worship, chant, read prabhupada literature... if desire is still there and u still can;t control, then at least you are trying... Keep trying to follow the principles that help one to become less attracted to sex...and eventuallyt Krsna will give your mind, body and soul the strength to reach for the highest sense gratification, Krsna, not mundane material sense grat... Guest guest
is the cause, and a very difficult habit to renounce. It has destroyed many, in fact, ajamila gave up his spiritual preactices because he viewed such an event. Get rid of the mags and movies, dont go where they are sold. These mechanical methods will help. Dont eat before you go to bed, get out of bed when you are not sleeping, this will also help. haribol. Guest guest
If i could, i will burn down the porno industry because foolishly going in there it screwed me up. so if i could, ill screw it up too!
Guest guest
Because these things cannot be artificially destroyed. The sense objects are there to make love of god a free choice, the definition of love. You cant burn the porno industry, otherwise youd have to destroy the internet, the #1 source of porn. Burn your desire by developing a higher taste. tbc, mahak
silvere
i would add, some advice is good here. i must say i'm married, diksa intiated and still have lot of lust. I add some big masturbation habit some years ago, and it went away... i'm careful because you can always fall down and sometimes it happens. So alkaline food mostly, no erotic material like magazines and website, and yes, be careful if you stay in bed late... it's the time you are more vulnerable. Anyway, keep on chanting and try not to worry so much if you fall down, tomorrow is another day and you can practice and turn to God. i understand it is very difficult if you are single, and i know i would probably still have this habit if i was single also. So find a serious relationship, and everything will be better. one wife, regulation and after 50-60, give it up ! there's a good book called the 4 principles of freedom by Satyaraj (steven rosen) which talk elaborately about this issue.
