Putting an end to animal sacrifices in Nepal

Dear Prabhus and Matajis,

I am working on a project to help to disencourage (and stop) the abundant animal sacrifices taking place each year in Nepal. As many of you might know this practice has been stopped or outlawed in many Indian states but it is still rife here in Nepal.

 

I would deeply appreciate it if anyone who has articles and particularly shastric references in this regard to illustrate that it is not part of hinduism (sanatana dharmic living) and that it should be stopped by the present generation and not continued.

Does the sacrifice of animals really still go on there?! someone needs to teach them why Lord Buddha came to earth. Or explain to them the laws of karma at least.
