The Regulative Principles For Human Beings

It’s not easy to give up a materialist and lusty life style, which most people are engaged in. Controlling the senses is like controlling the wind, which is very difficult. But when you realize that if you waste this rare human birth then you will have to go through the evolutionary process of transmigrating from the body to the next for millions of births before you get another chance of human birth, then it becomes a little easy.

Here are some basic starting points to end a demonic life style.

1. Stop being a serial killer, become a vegetarian.

2. Stop behaving like the dogs on the street. No sex before marriage or outside marriage.

3. Stop losing your consciousness, no intoxications (no drugs, no alcohol etc..).

4. Don’t speculate on your wealth, stop gambling.

All humans dream of going to the kingdom of God (the spiritual universe).

The non-Vedic religions say it’s ok to kill animals (eat meat). But in the kingdom of God there is no killing. So why don’t you start this practice now?

In the kingdom of God there is no sex, so why don’t you moderate your sex life now?

In the kingdom of God there are no intoxications, then why don’t you stop it now?

In the kingdom of God there is absolutely no speculation, so why don’t you stop speculating (gambling) now?

all these things are useless if we do not chant hare krsna mahamantra on regular basis

or

if someone chants hare krsna and does not follow any of the principles you have said he is infinitely more advanced than who follows without chanting

"Here are some basic starting points to end a demonic life style."

if anyone does these points but does not chant hare krsna, very soon he will became much more demonic

Hare Krishna.

If one chants and does not follow the regulated principles, he is in ignorance. Chanting and regulated principles go together, both should be done. But for a beginner, he has to start with the regulations first then he can move onto chanting.

Chanting hare krishna and eating a BIG MAC is an insult to Lord Krishna.

If one chants and does not follow the regulated principles, he is in ignorance.

--he could be temporarily in ignorance, but he, if he's chanting sincerely, will be very soon in transcendence. If one's following principles but not chanting, he is eternally condamned to remain in this material world.

So both things have to be done.. but the key, the real religion ("harer nama.. eva kevalam.. nasty eva.. gathir anyatha") is mahamantra.. not regulative principles

But for a beginner, he has to start with the regulations first then he can move onto chanting.

--that's against our tradition and different from acharya's behaviour. Prabhupada has not come in the west teaching principles, then he has introduced chanting but the opposite.. first hare krsna, then principles for who took the initiation.

It is not possible to control our senses indipendently by krsna, we can only call krsna with mahamantra, develope love for him, and forget in this way the sense gratification. This is love, religion.. not some arid repression's system

Chanting hare krishna and eating a BIG MAC is an insult to Lord Krishna.

--chanting hare krsna is the only way to forget material tastes and go back to godhead, being simply vegetarian will make us remain in the material world.

It will be a blissful, marvellous, saint world the one where everyone will chant hare krsna even if he's following no moral principle..

chant hare krsna and be happy... repress your senses and be sad..

Even if you cannot follow all of the regulative principles, you MUST chant! Prabhupada wanted everyone to chant, no matter what their lifestyle was.

Lord Gauranga said that there is no rules to chant Hare Krishna, everybody can chant WITHOUT RESTRICTIONS,but regulative principles are helping us to chant more purely and taht Maha mantra has more power in that sense, but the principles are the tool that may help us,not the essence. The essence is Maha mantra.Hare Krishna!
