Guest guest
The body of scriptural writing in hinduism is staggering. The scripture is bonafide as long as its inner meaning has been preserved. You should that scriptures may be "bonafide" but irrlevant. Smriti scriptures may be well preserved but they are specific to time and place, these generally talk about laws and society. There are then Sruti scriptures that talk about the absolute truth which are the ones that you should concentrate on. Bonafide scripture for ISKCON or for any organisation for that matter usually means that which has been authorized by their acarya. But there is another side to the scripture being "bonafide", it must also be taught through a true guru, a knower of the truth. The guru is more important than the scripture by millions of times. A true teacher can reveal the truth to you through in many ways scripture is just one.
