how many years has it been since Krsna left Earth

Hare Krishna.

 

Many times it is stated that Krsna transdendentally appeared 5000 years ago. I beleieve this has been the case for the past 30 years so was just wondering if anyone knew the exact year Krsna appeared and then disappred etc.

there has been a lot of recent research and a few devotees have found the exact time of birth of the Supreme Lord. They correlated their data with astronomic data that is scientifically published, and "matched" both findings. Additionally, utilizing similar methods they were able to find the exact date of battle of Kurukshetra. Now the disappointing part - I am not sure of the date or where I read it /images/graemlins/frown.gif( I think it may have been in a prior issue of Back to Godhead?
