Guest guest Posted February 15, 2004 Report Share Posted February 15, 2004 Shanti parva of mahabharata XI.I.120ff After the great Kurukshetra war when the pandava brothers were returning triumphantly thousands of brahmanas gathered at the city-gate to bestow blessing on Yudhisthara.Among them was chrvaka.he moved forward and without the consent pof the rest of the Brahmanas, addressed the King thus: "This assembly of the... you should die" ...other brahmanas regained their senses...and tey burnt the charvaka.( collected from the book:Lokayata:Astudy in Ancient IndianMaterialismby Debiprasad Chattopadhyaya(Ppls Pub Hse.)
