Sanskrit is so full of trite and repetitive metaphors and similes that new ones are often very striking. Like this one in Samaya-matrika by Kshemendra (1.9)

 

pIvaraM tIra-maNDUkair mArjAram iva zAradam

 

"Her belly was as fat as that of an autumn cat which has eaten its fill of shore-frogs."
