Guest guest
Hello - I am pretty much naive to the Hindu religion, and was wondering if someone could help me out with a few questions I had. What is the significance of water in Hinduism? What are the philosphies behind it? Is there significant symbolisms associated with color in Hinduism? Like I said before, I know very little, so any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Even if it's only to point me in the direction of a website or article it would help out a lot. Thanks

bodhichitta
water is purifying. One takes their daily ablution in sacred rivers to purify ones body. Colors carry frequency and induce different states of emotion and are associated with different chakras. Saffron is soothing so it is the color of renunciates. Purple is associated with the crown chakra so feudal kings used to wear purple cloaks.
ram
hare krishna hare krishna krishna krishna hare hare hare rama hare rama rama rama hare hare "water water every where not a drop to drink" if you keep repeating water, water, it will not qunech the thirst. but if we chant krishna krishna, the lord will manifest. this is the difference between mundane sounds and spiritual sound.
