Guest guest
it is a false conflict... one has to do both things to achieve spiritual perfection
barney
Hindu saints have done miracles but that is not what they were here for. They were here to up lift your faith in God and teach you dharma sastra. To teach you why you are born into this world and what is your dharma as a human being. Every living creature on earth has its dharma. The cows dharma is to provide milk and the plants dharma is to provide flowers and fruits and so on with every living being. They were here to teach what is man's dharma. What mother Theresa did was human dharma and all other human being must be able to help felow human. Do not just assume that only in Christianity has service to mankind and at the same time do not forh=get that this missionaries had a motive to do so. It was one way of winning the heart of the poor non Christians. I do not wish to comment further on this. They were thought in the monastry how to win new converts. Guest guest
I've heard that sai baba is a fake. Apparently PC Sarkar the great magician said that he can do pretty much everything sai baba can do. He even challenged sai baba to magic contest which he refused. Guest guest
Already Great saints/incarnations like Lord Ramanuja, Lord Raghavendra, Lord Madhvacharya, Lord Caitanya, ..... .. (list is sooo long that can't be covered here) have shared the knowledge to attain enlightment. But most people dont realised the importance of the knowlegde imparted by them. Do you think that all these saints have come to earth for nothing ? they have come here to share/preach to attain the knowledge of enlightment. But sad story is most people dont took it seriously. For example :- Lord Ramanuja stood on top of a temple tower and loudly cried "Om Namo Narayana" & guided the people to chant "Om Namo Narayana" with faith in heart. But most people chant without any faith. If you chant it with faith, you can taste the nector & you will be a enlightened soul. You can try it. Saints can show only the way to attain enlightment. Its our duty to follow it. They cant just carry you & put u on Gods feet (hehe). (Of course, if you become so pious, the saints may come & lead you since it has happened many times). Guest guest
I like what you say, and am glad to hear that the gurus tried to spread their knowledge. The reason I brought this point up is because hinduism seems to be loosing ground in india to western culture, while islam and christanity is on the rise. Unless we can find a way of sharing the knowledge hinduism might be lost forever..I am talking about real hinduism here, not the version most people follow. Most hindus themselves don't know much about hinduism..for eg. most hindus don't know that hinduism says that there is only one god which has many forms. Most hindus believe in many gods, which is not true hindusim.
