Guest guest
hi; Some indian vegetarian products have a 100% vegetarian symbol(green circle). Does it also mean that it has no alcohol??? What does a 100% vegetarian symbol mean in India??? Grateful if you could please help me. ;-)

Guest guest
I think the green dot is for pure vegetarian items only. The fact is I dont know where you got the idea about alcohol, unless you are in the west, where Rum and some alcohol is added to some food items. So, if you are going to a desi market ( if you are in the west), you can get indian exported food their, you can see the green dot in maggie noodles, horlicks, lot of food stuffs from India. Guest guest
Typically a green triangle is used to represent vegan items, while a green circle is used to represent vegetarian items (no meat but may contain eggs and dairy products). Vegetarianism is very different from abstinence from alcohol...just because something is labeled vegetarian does not necessarily mean it does not contain alcohol...check the ingredients list on the packaging to see if the food item contains alcohol..if alcohol is used, it is almost always mentioned in the ingredient list.
