"Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Hinduism is the cradle of all religion, and in a sense, it is beyond even that – it is the eternal law of Universal Righteousness. It has survived through the ages because of its flexibility and adaption, and through its diversity of thought. We are privileged to be the receptors of multitudes of ancient sanksrit texts with expansive philosophy on the science of God. Through this, the devotee of full understanding can apply their lives to the pursuit of God, and to the understanding of the universe and our true nature. However, of the 750 million Hindu’s in India, many of them lack the fundamental understandings of Hinduism.

In this Age of Kali, this precious way of life is coming under threat from anti-Hindu misconceptions, vulnerability to conversion, and the incorrect practice of worship and devotion. Our pure religion based upon study of scripture, devotional service, self enlightenment, and knowledge has slowly become tainted by complacence, and our souls corrupted by ignorance.

In households all over India, people worship gods without understanding the concept of Brahman (the Supreme One), without devoting themselves to God, and with little scriptural knowledge. The caste system has been misconstrued and misused. Spiritual education is lacking, and the words of so many great teachers is slowly being forgotten. So-called devotees of God lose themselves to aetheist speculations and to the pursuit of material gain. Missionaries worldwide are sent to convert Hindu’s stricken by poverty. In Utter Pradesh, charity groups ready themselves to erect 1 million churches with the intention of purging our great motherland of spiritual darkness. Our country, once grand, ancient, and expansive, is slowly becoming an echo of its former glory.

We must make an effort, as individuals, to make this change. We must uphold our duty. We must enact, fight for, and pursue Sanatana Dharma to ensure its survival – for the benefit of ourselves, our family, and for mankind. In this material world born of maya, what hope do we have in letting go of our path to God? Don’t think you can’t make a difference!

We must educate ourselves through the teachings of great figureheads and by the understanding of scriptures. We must educate our families, our friends, and most importantly, our children. Through the writings of great personalities such as Vivekananda, Yogananda and Prabhupada, we can find the answers we seek. Through education, we can reinforce and build.

Most importantly, we must not lose the essense of Santana Dharma, and our path to ensure its survival: study of our ancient scripture. Read the Ramayana and Mahabarata to your children.

Make an effort to understand whole heartedly, the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita. Enlighten yourselves to the knowledge of True Hinduism.

Remember to guard yourselves against unrighteous fanatacism. Hindu’s virtue humanity, integrity, non-violence, divinity and universality. Hindu’s believe in religious harmony, non-sectarianism, and freedom of thought. Share this with your friends, to other devotees, and to your family back home. Allow this to be an opportunity to strengthen your faith in God. Don’t let our great Sanatana Dharma die!"
