Confusion of Realisation

The thoughts, which affect us a lot has got the influence on our lives. When we start realizing the things, we feel that we are starting to understand the life.

Closing our eyes, if we think what made us not to realize the things, which can be realized. It’s the really funny concept of realisation.

I strongly feel that there is no need to realize for real things. It is the removal of non- realisation within us, which makes us ignorant of realisation.

It is the ancient method removing the darkness within us. In fact I strongly believe that, get rid of the darkness then there is absolute light.

If there is any need for some realisation then it is only for the non-existent thing for which we really need to realize. Real things cannot be realized; they are always real, existing and continue to exist. Then what is realisation?

Trying to realize is a confusing state until we realize that there is nothing to realize about truth. – Ramaprasad 1.7.2000

On one of the audio tapes the speaker talks about the process of self-realization. He mentions that according to the Vedas, one of the characteristics of the soul, in its constitutional position, is that it is full of knowledge. Vedanta, being the end of knowledge, is already known by the soul. Thus he says, the process is not an external one, but one of uncovering that which we already know to be the truth. If you have access to Real Audio try out the audio section. The speaker is really interesting. The tape I'm speaking of I believe was Introduction to the Vedas Part I.

As a side note, I'd like to say that Self-Realization is not something one can gain simply by academic study. There are some who are very simple hearted, who may not be able to quote a single Sanskrit verse, and yet are fine examples of what the Vedas teach. On the contrary, I've met people who are so well versed in Sanskrit, know every verse, and yet though externally they seem very knowledgeable, they have no practical application of the principles in their lives.

Self realisation is the goal of human life. We are fortunate enough to get human body. Only human beings are able to think & discriminate good and bsd. Even after attaining human body if you do not try to attain your goal you are exchanching diamond for glass. Self realisation is to under stand that God is present in our heart which is the shrine. Our lips are the entrance. Soul is eternal. Realise that the presence of god has to be felt. We can know the taste of sugar only after we taste it not by reading that sugar is sweet. Like that presence of God should be felt. The presence of God can be realised when you recite Ramayana or Gita with sincere devotion. Especially in satsung. Try to do that.

Hello npram,

'Trying to realize is a confusing state until we realize that there is nothing to realize about truth'

Maybe so, but even this has to be realized as true. And how does one go about doing this ? That is why we have all the paths.

Self-realization is like waking up from

a dream, knowing that God had asked you

to complete the assignment He has re-

quested you to do. It does not matter

how many dreams/lives you`ve been through.

As long as you have completed the task

He has given you.

I`m reminded of a friend who took him

almost two decades to finish and pass the

board in medicine( 4-years in college,

4-years proper medicine, 1 year post-gra-

duate, 6 months rural work, and 6 months

review for the board exams ). When he

finally passed the licensure for physi-

cians last year, everyone next to him

breathed a sigh of relief. We even joked

that he was one of those who contributed

to the construction of the massive pil-

lars responsible for his alma mater`s

school buildings standing on its own feet.

When he applied to volunteer in the hos-

pital where I work, everyone who knew him

were scratching their heads as to how he

could compete with his colleagues in the

field when experience-wise, even a nurse

could handle and treat a sick patient

better than my friend. But he persevered,

even though he does not receive anything

from the services he renders to his pa-

tients who actually are under our service

but gave these cases to him for his limi-

ted practice.

At present, after almost a year, my friend

Dr. A. R. still reports for duty although

he is not connected in any way with the

hospital where I work. And I really, tell

you the truth, appreciate the kind of

spirit he pours on his job without pay.

My friend, Dr. A.R., is not the kind of

person whom we say, is very religious. He

enjoys with his friends over a case of

beer on his day-off. At an age of 50 years

old, my friend still remains single, the

eldest among the few siblings who have

their own businesses to take care of.

I don`t discuss to my friend, Dr. A.R.,

about spiritual matters because I know God

in His own time will call and ask him to

preach the Good News. It`s enough that my

friend passed the medical board exams and

not giving up when the breaks were no-

where. The service my friend renders to

his patients, with sincerity and honesty,

is enough to please God. Because he did

it without asking from Him the returns.

Are we one like my friend?
