melvin
" Stop playing God!", was the Voice that I heard, unexpectedly when I took my regu- lar afternoon bath yesterday, Nov. 7, 2000, around 3:15 pm, Asia-Pacific time. It was a command which made me realize the futility of playing the role of God, as if having the illusion that one is empowered to do only God, in His transcendence, can accomplish without much ado. Thus, in the final analysis, in accepting that I am not God is a step towards realizing the Divine. Hiranyakasipu, a demon, thought he was God and therefore more powerful than Krishna, but at the last moment of his life, when he attempted to kill his son, Prahlada, for be- ing a devotee of God, demon Hiranyakasipu was killed by Lord Nrsimha, the half-man, half-lion incarnation of God with His sharp nails. To consider therefore himself as God is demon-Hiranyakasipu`s nature. Srila Prabhupada, the founder of the Hare Krishna movement, didn`t consider himself as God. So was Srila`s spiritual master, Bhak- tisiddhanta Saravasti Guru Maharaja, and the great spiritual masters like Bhaktivinoda Thakur and Hari Dasa Thakur, who are Hare Krishna devotees of Lord Chaitanya, the gol- den Avatar-incarnation of God in the Age of Kaliyuga. Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, although, He was God didn`t even consider Himself that way, claiming to His pure-devotees that He is the most insignificant, like a straw, eternal servitor of Sri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. In other words, there is only one God, and He is Krishna, the primeval Lord whose name is Govinda, the greatest Lover and Cowherder of the Surabhi cows in Goloka Vrndavan. He is present in this web site`s E-mail. That is what I meant of the www.harekrishna. com article I wrote which if handled with care and devotion can accomplish the mission of the Hare Krishna movement. May the Lord in His Vasudeva form give His full support on this wonderful Science of attracting everyone in Transcendence, making everyone want to go back home, back to God. viji_53
GOD says O man kind, I bind you together towards one objective- the welfare of man. Join together with mutual love and goodwill. May you all share the comforts of life equally. May you accomplish your work with mutual accord and finally may you, in the pursuit of your ambitions at all time, engage in working together with good will. May our inward thoughts conform to our outward actions. Carefully observe the ways of those that are virtuous and righteous. Follow the path laid down by our sages. This path will lead to happiness and heavenly bliss. From Atharvana Veda Hari Bhol!
melvin
King Pracinabharisat was advised by Narada Muni to stop using his body for sense gra- tification but instead engage it for Krsna`s satisfaction. Narada knew the King`s disease and how it could be eased. Narada Muni had the prescription and it was only up to the King to administer it on himself. Devotees of Krsna, like Narada, have no other busi- ness why he visits a householder or a King because his only concern is to remind them to go home, back to God, Krsna. Sri Narada is not visiting us for the money. Hare Krishna! -------------
