vishal krishna das
Approximately a century ago, North Indian Hindus revered (along with the Tulsidas Ramcharitmanas) a translation of the Bhagavat Puran into Hindi named 'Prem Sagar'. I would like more information about this book. I believe it was translated by a Swami, perhaps named Bharati. I do not know what it contained. Does anyone know if it was a complete translation or only a selection? Did it perhaps only contain the 10th Canto? This book was especially popular amongst diaspora Hindu communities (Fiji, West Indies, Mauritius...) amongst whom the Bhojpuri language perdominates. Was it in this language? If anyone can offer any enlightenment on this I would be grateful, Thanks.
