Marriage across the Globe

Families are very important in any religious community. This will ensure that good average people get attracted to the community. Even today, the racial and national differences exist when it comes to building families. There are many men in the west who dont marry because they dont want to take the responsibility of maintaining a family and face the risk of divorce, liability of children post-divorce etc. There are many western women who prefer not to marry because they see separation and curtailment of freedom. In India, men who want to marry generally do without much of a problem as long as they earn enough to maintain the family but there are many women who dont get married because of social systems like dowry. Most Indian women would not marry outside because of social conditions and fear of western society that these men may not take care of them thro life. How much of it is justified is hard to say ? Even today, divorcees and widows dont get protection through marriage because of social conditions. Will marriage across the globe solve some of these problems ?

Even after so much of bombarding Krishna Consciousness, I wd not prefer to marry outside my caste. Even within hindus, we might not go for a lower caste, or people speaking a different dialect.

This thinking somehow inherent in most of the Indians. Ofcourse, there is also a lot of social considerations involved, too.

Marrying around the globe is a far fetched idea for atleast our generation, even with whatever western thinking and education they are exposed to. But the society has opened up more than our parents and grand-parents. There is a slow and steady metamorphosis taking place in the thinking of Indians. IS it good or bad, is still a question of debate.

If a country is opening up, it is sure to be influenced by outside cultures. Inturn it also influences other cultures.

KRSNa predicted Kaliyuga Globalization 5,000 yrs ago.

He said to MAyA-danava,

"Oh no! Don't introduce it. Such technology will ruin everything!"

Technology is being used to destroy tradition, marriage etc.

TV almost did it single handedly.

Along with Film & Radio, all semblance of culture will vanish.

Juniors will disrespect & even prey on seniors.

Family will be abandoned altogether in favor of packrat formation.

What Bushel-supported ENRON has done to India alone guarantees our dear pres & co many future births among lower species.

I think in general globalization will bring about better relations between peoples. Whether that includes marriage (most likely I think) or not will be seen. With a loss of geographic boundaries, whole new mixtures will occur. We might actually see the elimination of race. Sounds odd, but think about it. With mixing of the world population, it might one day be possible to view everyone as part of the same human family. A chinese who lives in Ireland, and Indian living in Mexico, Africans living in Australia etc..... We'll all come together after thousands of years as a new race - the human race.
