I noticed some of those points. The Rishi Maze and the name Padme were pretty obvious. Though I don't think George Lucas was intending to make a "Hindu" movie. You can find just as many Christian symbolisms in the movie etc.... He basically was looking for myths or archetypes he could use to create his world. Another point is that in part one during a fight sequence the background music has sanskrit chants. I remember hearing this distinctly. Later I saw a making of program , and it said that in sanskrit it was saying something along the lines about death, and killing or something like that (I'm a bit foggy as its been quite some time).

"John Williams used one line ...from Robert Graves' translation of the Celtic Poem "Cad Goddeu" ("The Battle of the Trees"):

'Under the tongue root a fight most dread, and another raging, behind, in the head.'

It may allude to how the duel is fought on more than one level, the two of them being the Jedi vs. the Sith and the Trade Federation vs. Naboo. "

Maybe I should have included all that in the essay, but I wanted to focus on Lucas' contributions rather than those of John Williams. He says he used Sanskrit because "it sounded the best", but who knows ...

Personally, I do think he was heavily influenced by Vedic themes. Some may think that he took a little from each part of the world, but like I said, I think the Vedic themes far outweigh the other stuff. The only hitch is that this newest movie was incredibly silly to watch. That's maya for you ...
