Guest guest
Had Duryodhan never named Karna king of Anga, would he (Duryodhan) still have lasted as long as he did? Not being skeptical or anything, I just want to see your replies.
Avinash
I think that he would have lived because I don't know of instances where Duryodhana survived because Karna saved him.
mahak
Karna prolonged the great battle for one day. But, Krsna desired all the events to take place, so if not Karna, perhaps another General would have taken over at the demise of Drona. I do not consider any of the characters in mahabharata as not being fully engaged in the pastimes of Lord Krsna (thus pure devotees), it is only our vision that makes us see devils and angels. Karna (the sixth Pandava) is a great hero, and when one considers who Duryodhana's best friend is (Lord Balarama), perhaps demonizing the person is not wise either. Of course we do not imitate, so to poison Pandavas is not a prescribed duty, but for Duryodhana? Part of the Great Performance for our ultimate benefit. Hare Krsna ys mahaksadasa
Jahnava Nitai Das
The Balarama Sahasranama and Balarama Kavaca both come to us from Duryodhana.
