Somesh Kumar
Dear Vaishnavas, Had a query in my mind. Thought of getting the view of the great devotees here. Question is: Do the gross materialistic people usually neglect the spiritual people? Has anyone found that the more spiritual a person is becoming the more he is neglected by the people with gross materialistic mentality? If that's the case, Could the reason be that their levels of thoughts are not matching at all? Any thoughts on these matters with some scriptural reference, as well, will be appreciated... gHari
If they cannot use us, then we are of no use to them. The Bible says: "Those of the world will speak of the world; those of the spirit will speak of the spirit." There just is no common ground. The thief sees a sadhu, but only sees his empty pockets. Gauracandra
I seem to remember there was a conversation between Srila Prabhupada and George Harrison about just this type of occurrence. George was telling Srila Prabhupada that the more he gets into Krsna Consciousness, the more others don’t want to be with him, or perhaps it was the more he didn’t really want to be with them. That is he wanted better association. I don’t recall the conversation all that well. Anyone with the quotes?
