Guest guest
In the commentary to 13.20, Sankaracharya writes that God and His aspects (jiva and prakrti) are both eternal. I have read postings that there is no real existence of God, jivatmas and the material world in the advaitic conception of vedanta. But this seems cotradictory. Could some one please explain ? spiritualsri
Could you please elaborate on your question? It is slightly confusing. Cheers

RIFamily
What is the meaning of the following? satsangatwe nissangatwam, nissangatwe nirmohatwam, nirmohatwe nischalatatwam, nischalatatwe jeevanmukthih.
Avinash
After I joined the forum, Shvu was the first member whom I found using the word "Cheers". Some others started doing it latter. But, I can claim that spiritualsri is not Shvu.
debbie
I know this is not the proper place to ask, but are either of you have IM?? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Debbie
Avinash
This is taken from Bhaja-Govindam of Adi Sankaracarya. The meaning is :- "The company of the good takes one away from false atttachments; When attachment is lost, delusion ends; When delusion ends, the mind becomes steady; From steady mind comes liberation even in this life." Guest guest
I have read that Sankara negates in upadesa sahasri the absolute reality of God. but in this verse Sankara does talk about eternality of God. That which is eternal is real. So I was wondering how could this be ?
spiritualsri
I am not whom you are mentioning. Basically i am in England. Here this the way people take leave of friends & acquantances. So it has just become a habit. I liked that paragraph from the Bhaja Govindam & so just put it as my signature. Atleast it keeps reminding us to be in the company of good people. Cheers
