Gauracandra
In the Ramayan is there any description of the clothing that Rama wore? It is said it was composed of bark, but are there any details. The reason I ask is I remember a friend who sold clothing made of tree bark. It was called Bemberg as I recall, and the material was made of tree bark, but it was processed to be very smooth and supple. Tree bark as clothing is difficult to imagine, unless it was of this nature. Any details?

Jahnava Nitai Das
The coconut tree produces a natural cloth like substance from its bark. It does not require to be processed in any way, it is already somewhat like cloth.
stonehearted
The post was about tapa (or kapa, as it's called in Hawaiian), made from the bark of a mulberry tree.
