Tarun
So far he's got my vote. So far. Hydrogen powered car research, cleaner air, aid for prisoner's families & the addicted, medical liability reform, anti-human cloning law, aid to a Democratic Palestine (this one I have to see), African AIDS Relief ... He's concerned about re-election. He's telling us what we want to hear. Can he execute even half of it? If so, he'll certainly be loved. stonehearted
I didn't see or hear much of his speech. What you're reporting here, Tarun, looks as though it was written by Toby Ziegler and Sam Seaborn.
Tarun
"I used to believe in words" Santo Verdadero ki jaya! Great song by Chernobyl band "Bushit" Ralph Nader was interviewed right after speech: "Words" Stoneji: Ziegler & Seaborn? Tell me more. Even Norman Schwartzkopf (1991 Desert Storm) stated: There's no basis for invading Iraq now." Thomas Jefferson refused to give "State of Union" address calling it pompous". He sent letters instead to be read by anyone who wished to. No president gave one until 1913's Woodrow Wilson 'revived' it. International Atomic Energy Commission dismissed aluminum rods' nuclear connection. Anti-stem cell research? Anti-human cloning?
stonehearted
Tarun cites St. Francis et al: "I used to believe in words" Santo Verdadero ki jaya! Great song by Chernobyl band "Bushit" Ralph Nader was interviewed right after speech: "Words" I'm right behind you here. Toby Ziegler and Sam Seaborn have been the Communications Director and chief speechwriter for President Bartlet on NBC-TV's "The West Wing." They've actually served as alter egos for Aaron Sorkin, the show's creator and writer. Sorkin may well be one of the best screenwriters in the world. It seems I haven't yet attained the stage of bhava, since I do waste some time (although, fortunately, not a lot) watching television. Those of you who are more advanced deserve my dandavats and my service.
