Guest guest
a guru is considered god's represenative. one surrneders to his/her chosen guru completely, ideally. there are not very many who would surrender completely. ther are not very many gurus qualified enough to surrender to completely. the relation is voluntry both ways. it is a spiritual unwritten contract, not commercial. Guest guest
Reciprocal commitment, that is, a confidential arrangement of association. Disciple asks for acceptance, Guru grants under conditions of love. Disc iple sees to the satisfaction of Guru, Guru gives everything to disciple without holding back, relationship is eternalized via the Supreme Lord, who is the GURU who makes the arrangement for disciple to become associated with his representative. When disciple's guru disappears from this plane, disciple sees Him with the Supreme Lord, not unlike the concept of Lord Jesus "ascending into heaven to sit on the right side of the Father." theist
>>How does a guru becomes God's representative ?<< By following the example set by his guru and loving Krsna without reservation and also learning the science of Krsna Consciousness. >>Can one only reach God through the Guru ? << Without guru we would not even know there was God. Krsna first told Brahma and Brahma spread the divine knowledge. Guru has left so many books and disciples that help reach God. The self taught is only a myth. If you could reach God without guru then why ask a question. Ultimately you have to do it. That's your freedom. But that is not to say you got there independent of anothers help. Are you thinking formality versus informality?
