Guest guest
I have never heard of any, or anyone asking the question before. Why do you ask? Has someone given you one?
Guest guest
I suspect that for devout Buddhists (perhaps only from certain lines) the small figurines as you describe them are like personal deities meant for worship. Likely these days they are given out more as "good luck charms". But the original purpose would be for worship I believe.
Marxman
Yes I was given one but I bought a set of three and want to give them to three people in my life. I feel that the significance is happynes, and luck. If you rub a Buddha belly you get these traits. I want people to feel like I do when I rub Buddhas belly. I dont want to impose of thier spirtuality so I guess i was hoping for an answer that would justify a reason with a higher purpose.... or maybe I'll find out myself at a later date. Or maybe this thought process IS the higher purpose. Thanks for the responses guys/gals. You drew the answer right outta me.
